Interview with The Grievers

Hi! Tell me about your band and what kind of previous experience do you have as musicians?

Luca: The Grievers are a melodic death metal band with metalcore influences that you can listen to on the new album.
Luca: We have all played in other projects, but now it is more important to remain united and focused on this project that must develop, modernize and expand.

Why did you pick your band name? How did you form? Why did you decide to play the genre or genres you do?

Luca: really Roberto chose the name Grievers… but he is more shy to talk about it (hahahahahahahaha)
Luca: the project was born in 2008 and the last reunion in 2017, while the musical genre we play is that which we love most.

What can you tell us about your latest record?

Luca: The Eternal Pleasure Of Revenge is a mini concept album of 4 chapters, this is all that the Grievers had created in 2015, when the songs have been written,
Luca: This album is really different from the our first Reflecting Evil, but I don’t want to talk to you too much about this … so listen well!

What the kind of album feedbacks are you waiting for?

Luca: always let’s hope to receive the positive opinions, but we are ready to receive the negative opinions always if they are used to grow and improve.

Are you gonna to make some world tour in the future? Do you think this is available for everybody option to tour around the globe? What do you think band have to do to get such opportunity?

Luca: hehehehehe… wow… world tour would be a awesome experience and we believe that those who could live it are really lucky, but we will never do it I think!
Luca: we don’t believe that all the bands can do it, many things are needed besides a good album to play.

Do you believe in heavy music scene without money?

Luca: ooo yes… sure!!! We have never paid to play, so never done before and we will never do it!!!

What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Luca: we think it’s a good idea for the many self-producing bands like us, it’s a good way, a chance to let people know and listen to your work.

Who are your musical influences? Have you ever think your band could be so famous as your favorites?

Luca: ok… Heven Shall Burn, After The Burial, Arch Enemy, Parkway Drive, August Burns Red, Dark Tranquillity, The Black Dahlia Murder, Born of Osiris,
Devil Driver, Children of Bodom, In Flames and many more in the world of metal sound…..
and sure, maybe not a world tour band, but certainly if we had not been in Italy we would certainly have been more followed!

Do you have a formal music education? Do you think it’s a Kind of important thing?

Luca: I think that, in music it’s the idea that counts, have a good ideas and the rule is not always the right way!

How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?

Luca: If you have a passion, find the time to devote to her, just like with your partner, children and work.

How do you handle mistakes during a performance? Or you can assure there are no any mistakes during your gigs? Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Luca: with medieval torture (Baaahahahahahahah), having the certainty of not making mistakes is impossible! Everyone is wrong, even the most famous.
Luca: so if you know you can be wrong, do everything to not do it, if it happens try to fix the best you can!

What’s next? Thank you!

Luca: soon we will try to play live as much as possible to promote The Eternal Pleasure Of Revenge and surely new material will arrive on our social … follow us.
