Eminem regrets homophobic slur in diss track to Tyler the Creator

Eminem has found himself in a fair share of drama lately. With his brand-new diss track on MGK, Eminem is also receiving some backlash on his recent homophobic slur against Tyler the Creator.

In an interview series with Sway, Eminem’s Marshall Mathers went on the show to discuss his new album Kamikaze and the diss tracks in his new song “Fall.” The song features disses meant for Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler the Creator. However, his diss on Tyler may have gone just a bit too far.

“Fall” was released last week as a single from Eminem’s new album. The homophobic diss reads, “Tyler create nothin’, I see why you called yourself a (f****t), bitch.”

Tyler the Creator tweeted about his distaste for Eminem’s track “Walk On Water.” Following that, Eminem wrote the lyrics to “Fall.”

Somehow, the most creative thing Eminem could come up with was a dig at the rapper’s sexuality.

However, in the interview, Eminem goes back on his lyricism.

“I was angry when I said the shit about Tyler,” Mathers says. “Every time I saw this kid, I was always so cool with him. I loved his energy. He was a funny dude. He’s super charismatic and shit. But shit, at what point do I have to say something just to defend myself?”

Mathers goes on to apologize for his word choice and explain how his words affect more than just one person.

“In my quest to hurt him, I realize that I was hurting a lot of other people by saying it,” Mathers says. “In the midst of everything else that was going on on this album, it was one of the things that I kept going back to going, ‘I don’t feel right with this.’”

“Fall” also features Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon. However, in a story with Pitchfork, the electronic indie artist claims to kind of hate the new track.

Maybe Eminem will unleash a diss track on the guy who wrote “Skinny Love” next. Stay tuned.
