Interview with Swarm Of Hatred

Hi! Tell me about your band and what kind of previous experience do you have as musicians?

Avernus: Infernal hails from Santiago, Chile, Swarm Of Hatred started as a solo project during 2011, after some changes in the lineup, in winter of 2014 we released our debut ep titled “The Brotherhood Of The Black Blood” after that for time availability and musical differences, was another change of line up and during 2015 we worked hard to write our debut album that was finally recorded during 2016 and released during 2018 after some issues with some graphic artists and a some changes of lineup after the recording of our debut album titled Shrine Of Negativity.
My previous experience was with a pornogrind project  with some friends and from 2013 to 2016 in played in Kythrone.
Alasthor, the bassist was playing bass in several bands and he recorded the sophomore demo of Nocturnal Death during 2014.
Windir, the guitarist played with a symphonic black metal act called Austral Nox from 2015-2016 and previously he played in several irrelevant acts.

Why did you pick your band name? How did you form? Why did you decide to play the genre or genres you do?

Avernus: The name Swarm Of Hatred i picked because the change of focus and the maturity of the lyrical themes that was morenintended to the misanthropy and hate to the human kind and our actual culture and as a reminded that only death is real and will be there forever.

What can you tell us about your latest record?

Avernus: This was an effort of a full year of work made with blood, sweat and tons of hatred

What the kind of album feedbacks are you waiting for?

Avernus: I don’t mind if there is someone who give a bad feedback, is better for us for improving our music.

Are you gonna to make some world tour in the future? Do you think this is available for everybody option to tour around the globe? What do you think band have to do to get such opportunity?

Avernus: If there are some good promoters and a good deal, we don’t discard the idea to do a tour abroad.

Do you believe in heavy music scene without money?

Avernus: Is pretty hard to be a full time metal musician, we actually all have daywork, we are in the IT business.

What do you think about online music sharing? Do you ever give your music away for free? Why?

Avernus: We gave some time limited giveaway of our debut EP for some months in the past for promotion issues, all was downloadable via Soundcloud, we didn’t used Bandcamp at that time.

Who are your musical influences? Have you ever think your band could be so famous as your favorites?

Avernus: My musical en nfluences for Swarm Of Hatred are Dissection, Ved Buens Ende, Horna, Dødsheimsgard (Kronet Til Konge era), Ondskapt and other black metal acts my focus is not to be famous or that kind of stuff, if it would be, i would play another kind of music.

Do you have a formal music education? Do you think it’s a Kind of important thing?

Avernus: No, i’ve learn to play my instrument by myself and reading some theories books

How do you balance your music with other obligations – mate, children, job?

Avernus: I practice and play music in home at least 3 times during the week and we rehearsal often during sundays for 2-3 hours.mantaining the communication during the week in a Whatsapp group of the band.

How do you handle mistakes during a performance? Or you can assure there are no any mistakes during your gigs? Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition?

Avernus: We practice the song step by step during the rehearsals before a live show playing the setlist for 3 times and the final time we play it with vocals, about the mistakes live we are playing contunously without stuttering after a mistake.
