Nuclear War Now! Just Released an Ultra-rare Blasphemy Rehearsal Tape, Recorded from the Top of a Washing Machine

Blasphemy do things ultra raw and ultra nasty and ultra heavy; we get that, and we’re totally on board, as we’re certainly no strangers to Fallen Angel of Doom or Blood Upon the Altar. For the battalion leaders of war metal, the ultra extreme makes perfect sense, so a ripping recording in a subterranean setting seems almost mandatory. But team Decibel was extra surprised to get word on the recent digital release (LP/CD/tape forthcoming) of Victory (Son of the Damned) which had the following description: The aforementioned rehearsal session took place in the basement of then-bassist Bestial Saviour of the Undead Legions, and … Continue reading

Tired of all that talk of Sleep and their stoned, doomed counterparts? We’ve got you covered with something that’s quite the opposite: a brand new song from Portuguese grind/death maniacs Axia. They’re releasing a record called Pulverizer on April 27, and they live up to the name, as evidenced by new song “Fading Into Nothing.” Axia strike with palpable feelings of rage, going straight for the throat before pumping the breaks and veering into a crawling mosh part. The quartet’s ability to pummel and, well, pulverize comes as no surprise when you learn that members of Axia also play in The Ominous Circle, Holocausto, … Continue reading

Not to talk too much about the lyrical content, but it is about walking the plank into the metaphysical abyss.
