Dez Fafara’s Wife Diagnosed With Cancer; DevilDriver’s Megacruise Appearance Cancelled

DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara has revealed that his wife, Anahstasia, has been diagnosed with cancer. As a result, DevilDriver will not make their previously-scheduled appearance on Megadeth’s Megacruise, which sets sail from Los Angeles this Sunday, October 13.

Says Fafara in a statement:

“Today my world is BLACK my wife and best friend @mrsfafara was told yesterday she has cancer. Please send positive vibes for our family while we go through this difficult time. #FuckCancer. AT THIS TIME @devildriver IS CANCELLING @themegacruise SO I can be by my wife’s side . Thank you for your understanding.”

Dez and Anahstasia have three sons —  Tyler, Simon and Kaleb — and are partners in both the Suncult surf apparel and lifestyle brand (along with Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe) and Oracle Management, who represent such acts as Cradle of Filth, Wednesday 13, and Jinjer.

On behalf of everyone at MetalSucks, we wish Anahstasia a speedy recovery.
